Raquel Caputo

Founding Director

Raquel learned English at age 4 at Colegio Nueva Granada in Bogota Colombia, she also studied at Birch Wathen Lenox in Manhattan during her Junior Year of high school. She has a double major from Fordham University in English Literature and Communications. She has a Master’s degree in Creative Writing from the University of London and a Master’s degree of Literary Criticism from Javeriana University.

Her life has always been connected to books, reading, and writing in the English language. She has been teaching kids since 2006 and has dedicated her professional life to combining her love for literature, reading, and writing with her ability to engage students and communicate her knowledge and passion about the English language to all kinds of people of different age groups. Giovanna Mugno Varela

English Teacher

Giovanna has been an English teacher for more than 30 years. She has been teaching English as a second language to children from ages 4 through 12 years old. She has also been teaching Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies in English. She is trained on teaching strategies for children with learning difficulties and Montessori Pedagogy obtained while working in Florida, USA.

 

Giovanna studied English at the London College in England and has an Education Diploma in Teaching English as a Second Language from Bell Cambridge. During her professional life, she has obtained continuous training on teaching English for teachers and teachers’ content known as “Teaching Knowledge Test” from University of Cambridge. Her passion has always been teaching children and making learning fun.

Psychologist

Ana has always been involved in education and children development. She studied Psychology at Universidad Javeriana and later completed a Masters degree in Public Health at Universidad de Puerto Rico.  While completing her studies and ever since she has always worked with children at kindergardens and schools as a teacher and as support in different learning center’s with special needs children having  more that 15 years of experience.

Her passion for working with children comes from a place of understanding that each child is an individual with particular needs that are met through exploring their creativity and their strengths. One way to explore those needs is through literature, reading and writing, it is a great way to help them express their feelings and thoughts, the more tools they have for expressing themselves the better communicators they will become.
